Bernard-Germain-Étienne de La Ville-sur-Illon, comte de Lacépède (26 Desember 1756 – 6 Oktober 1825) adalah seorang naturalis Prancis dan seorang freemason aktif. Ia dikenal karena kontribusinya pada karya besar Comte de Buffon, Histoire Naturelle.

Sementara itu ia menulis dua risalah, Essai sur l'électricité (1781) dan Physique générale et particulière (1782–1784), yang memberinya persahabatan dengan Buffon, yang pada 1785 mengangkatnya menjadi subdemonstrator di Jardin du Roi, dan mengusulkan agar ia melanjutkan Histoire naturelle Buffon. Kelanjutan ini diterbitkan dengan judul Histoire naturelle des quadrupèdes ovipares et des serpents. Tome premier (1788) dan Histoire naturelle des ular. Tome kedua (1789).[1]
