Rev. William Richardson Linton (2 April 1850 – 7 April 1908), Corpus Christi College, M.A.,[2] adalah ahli botani Inggris dan vikaris dari paroki Gereja Inggris di Shirley, Derbyshire. Ia menikah dengan Alice Shirley (putri dari Rev. Walter Waddington Shirley dan Philippa Frances Emilia Knight Shirley) pada 26 Januari, 1887, yang kemudian dikaruniai seorang putri, Viola Marion Linton.[1][3]

Linton menulis banyak buku tentang Flora dari Derbyshire, dipublikasikan tahun 1903.[4] Tahun 1969 buku tersebut diperbaharui oleh A.R.Clapham dan dipublikasikan oleh Museum dan Galeri Seni Derby.[5]
